Cayo Largo, April 2012

So I mentioned earlier that I had been on a trip; it was a return to Cayo Largo del Sur, one of our favourite places in Cuba. It's the small key off the coast of Cuba proper; most of it is a wildlife preserve with 5 small resorts on it. Compared to the main island it's very wild and undeveloped, and full of iguanas and pelicans and a myriad of other seabirds (some of which I am still trying to identify using my Field Guide to the Birds of Cuba. Which I forgot to take to Cuba).

I have (finally! So busy!) posted some photos to flikr. (I hope that link works.) They're not nearly as interesting as the trips when we visit Cuban cities and towns, but they're a small collection of some happy memories in a very special place.

The link works fine, and the photos are exactly what they should be: well worth spending some time with and they provide a fine vicarious interlude. Thanks!
