When Leaders go bad...

A friend sent this to me - it's a parody created using a trailer from the movie "Valkyrie". The nuanced matching of the subtitles to the actors' speech would be reason enough to watch, even if the content itself wasn't so hilarious...

I'm sure that would be much funnier if I knew Canadian politics. I know about the no confidence issue, I even know what "prorogue" means, but comparing a guy to Hitler because he doesn't want to leave office?

Oh, you should have been around in the heyday of Frank magazine. Politics in Canada, and most of the former-Commonwealth, is a contact sport.

I'm not sure that there's an overt intent to *compare* Harper to Hitler in any real sense... just using the happy coincidence of the release of the trailer featuring Hitler's rant, and Harper's current debacle to create a parody.

Mike, I miss Frank. "Comforting the afflicted, and afflicting the comfortable" was, you'll recall, on their masthead.
