Watersports

I mentioned that we went snorkeling at a coral reef during our day-trip. We got the pictures back from the disposible underwater cameras and they came out pretty good!

Colourful fishies, of course. Hard to get photos of them, though!

The biggest surprise at this small coral reef was the variety of the types of coral... it comes in so many shapes and sorts. Fan coral, elkhorn coral, brain coral, lettuce coral... an amazing living underwater garden.

Who dat? (Notice the U.N.B. t-shirt - representin'!)
Husband wears a t-shirt while snorkeling because otherwise, it's really, really easy for guys to get badly sunburned on their backs. You're out there for ages with your back exposed, the water washes at your sunblock, and you feel so cool because of the water you don't realize your back is burning.

I mentioned that this key is kind of an eco-destination. It is, it was made crystal clear by our guides, ABSOLUTELY FORBIDDEN to touch the coral.

Cuba. About as much fun as you can have legally in the water.

Will Mr. Ronniecat get upset if I either:

A) say that it is a pity that the SI swimsuit crew wasn't in Cuba during your visit.

or

B) let loose with a loud wolf whistle

??

Glad you both had a nice trip.

Thanks to both of you for your comments. Welcome, Divemaster!

Dann, Mr. Ronniecat will appreciate your comments.

Maybe just a little less than I do.

Oh, man, now you've done it, Ms. cat. The last time I snorkeled a coral reef was 23 years ago, and I was upside-down then since the Great Barrier Reef is in the southern hemisphere. Now I really, really want to go to Cuba, since I doubt that we'll see much in the way of coral reefs in Ireland next year.

Fonzie wants to know if you have any cheesecake pictures of Veronica that you could post.

Veronica doesn't do cheesecake. If she did, it would be more like this, though, so it's certainly just as well.

You really shouldn't let your cat smoke, you know. It's very expensive.
