hearing/loss
A journal of a "post-lingual acquired hearing loss in adulthood", or how I went deaf - and got a cochlear implant - at 39.

Is this the exciting part of town or the boring part of town? It's hard to tell . . .
That probably depends on whether ronnie is there or not.
I am pleased that my reputation precedes me :)
All downtown Winnipeg looks pretty much like this to my eyes. Regina, another prairie town next door in Saskatchewan, has much more green space and lovelier architecture and is more pleasing to the eye.
And Winnipeg's all both(exciting and boring). Winnipeg has some great restaurants and live entertainment venues, especially in the Exchange district. (Not where my hotel was.) And it has one of the highest crime rates in Canada. After my meetings are done, I don't leave my hotel and explore the neighbourhood after dark the way I would in most other cities in Canada.
A coworker who was traveling with me told me that he overheard a woman reporting at the hotel desk that she'd been robbed on the street. I guess that's that "mugging" I hear about on the tee vee. Apparently there were no weapons involved. Very Canadian. The hotel staff were helping her contact the police.
Winnipeg has some problems. I still look forward to going back.
I have great affection for Winnipeg because that's where my ...uh ...where a ... um ... where a pharmacy that i would use, if it were allowed, but at which i, of course, have not saved something approaching $10,000, because i would never do anything illegal, is located.
NFTP: Uh... yes. If. But not. Of course.
