Happy Christmas Eve

Brian has posted his annual tribute to The Best Christmas Song from The Best Comic Strip ever.

Sherwood has posted his annual photos of the beautiful Christmas preparations at Fort Harrington.

And I will post my annual reminder that NORAD is tracking Santa in real time as he delivers presents to good boys and girls around the globe (in 8 languages!). This was such a thrill for me when I was a little girl, it still moves me when I follow it every year.

It must be time for Christmas.

Merry Christmas, everyone. Hug your loved ones a bit tighter this year. It hasn`t been a pretty one.

Or the *more* important stuff: what did Mojo get?

Ha ha! *I* got Hilary Mantel's "Bring up the Bodies", the sequel to "Wolf Hall" and a book I've been dying to read. And a lot of other great stuff.

Mojo got a little mouse with pull-back action that races across the floor and that he wore himself out chasing. More importantly, Mojo got *me* a new iPhone charger cord to replace the one he chewed up!

A very Merry Christmas at Casa Ronniecat. And what did *you* both get?

Material loot: some clothes.

Loot for the soul: For the first time in neither one of us can remember how long, we got to see *everybody* at least once this holiday season. Combined, that means all three sons and the daughter and all four granddaughters. And everybody's significant others if they have them. And half-s and step-s and ex-s and cousins.

God bless us, every one.

(*Some* half-s and step-s and ex-s and cousins, that is. All of them would have required a hall and lots of plane tickets.)

We had one daughter here, with significant other, and she painted me a panorama of Peanuts Lucy images! I'll post a pic.

My botanist friend sent Extreme homegrown catnip and the reaction to it is - well, i don't yet know the reaction because it's still in its bag, unopened, but the shipping box exuded such a powerful aroma to Graymatter that she was crawling right up on the coffee table. So! actually opening and distributing it...? I must use this power only for Good.

Sherwood's Christmas is what it's about - that's the best life gets.

Late to the party because I'm just getting back from family and returning to routines that include reading blogs. Nice post, thanks for the mention. Sherwood will appreciate one of my favorite gifts this year, a t-shirt with a schematic of the solar system captioned, "Back in MY day, we had NINE planets." Also got some clothes and stuff. Both girls home, one of them bringing a cold that leapfrogged from person to person until it just caught up to me tonight. It's a fair trade.

Great stories! Brian, I would love to have one of those t-shirts - I have a soft spot for dear old Pluto...
