"...and it's sublime."

You find the loveliest things on Twitter now and then.

Marc Garneau, Canadian Member of Parliament and former astronaut, tweeted this:

"
Sometimes in the night, my dreams do take me back to space and it's sublime. I can't control it but it's very sweet."

Imagine being able to have such dreams, from memory.

Sublime.

Mojo-a-Go-Go

About a week and a half ago I was in Ottawa on business (oh, Ottawa, you Grey Lady, you are tolerable in the summer but crushingly depressing in winter), so Husband had to take Mojo to the vet for his sub-q fluid shot. He is barely manageable by two people - trying to do it single-handed would be a lesson in futility.

The happy news is that they weighed him and he weighed in at 8 lbs 3 oz, which is the first time he's been over 8 lbs in quite a long time and confirmed our observations that he is putting on some weight and doing better these days. His coat is glossy, there's a layer of fat over his spine, and he is crazy active and playful. We are all happy. I credit this to the Royal Canin Medi-Cal Recovery food, which his vet recommended months ago, and which makes up about 70% of his diet now. It's high-calorie, high-moisture (fighting dehydration), and full of good things for him, like fish and vegetable oils.

Home administration of sub-q fluids continue to be a day-to-day thing. Or other-day to other-day. Tonight we had a relatively quiet session, although it took two efforts to complete the process. Last time, he shredded his dad's forearm and the bloodletting was technicolour and full of awe. And that was while Husband was wearing gloves.

Overall, we're pleased. The bottom line is that he's healthy, and happy, and active and kittenish.

Living as hard as he can.
